AirLiance Materials Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification
Chicago, IL (August 17, 1999) - AirLiance Materials has been certified by the International Organization for Standardization as ISO 9001:2000-compliant, Roscoe Musselwhite, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, announced today.
ISO is the specialized international agency for standardization, at present comprising the national standards bodies of 91 countries. ISO is made up of approximately 180 Technical Committees, each of which is responsible for one of many areas of specialization ranging from asbestos to zinc. The standards they develop provide the foundation on which companies build quality management and quality assurance systems to ultimately achieve a high level of success.
Mr. Musselwhite noted that the company was recommended for certification by DNV, one of the most stringent and well-respected registrars in the industry, in July. He added that AirLiance Materials demonstrates its ongoing commitment to delivering the highest quality parts and service by adhering to the practices and procedures of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
"AirLiance Materials was built on the strength of three of the world's largest airlines, so our customers can take advantage of economies of scale and operational experience simply not available from any other supplier," Musselwhite said. "We not only offer access to the world's largest inventory of aircraft parts, we also provide a wide range of support. To ensure quality in everything we do, we belong to the Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (CASE), a self-governing organization that evaluates and audits parts suppliers and repair stations. We also stay up to date with North American and JAA regulations and comply with the certification and document requirements."
A member of the Airline Suppliers Association, the company is one of the few vendors in the industry to use a sophisticated optical imaging system for document storage and retrieval. This system provides a high degree of traceability by serial number for engines and aircraft.
AirLiance Materials is a repair and supply chain management company providing airlines, aircraft maintenance organizations (MROs), and aircraft companies throughout the world with high quality, traceable parts, strategic parts sourcing, as well as inventory management, consignment sales and other services. Headquartered in Chicago with regional offices in North America, Europe and Asia, AirLiance Materials has built its staff to nearly one hundred people, including experienced purchasing, sourcing, quality, customer sales support, and information technology professionals. Currently, the company offers airlines, operators and supports organizations a wide range of material sales, consignment sales, purchasing services, distribution services and repair management.
