Roscoe Musselwhite Named Vice-President of Sales and Marketing

Chicago, IL (January 28, 1999) - Roscoe A. Musselwhite has been named Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AirLiance Materials, the joint venture of United Airlines, Air Canada and Lufthansa Technik, formed to buy and sell aircraft materials in the secondary spare parts market.

In his new position, Mr. Musselwhite will report to David J. Sisson, President and CEO, and will be responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of the venture's marketing strategies and worldwide sales activities.

"We are extremely pleased that Roscoe is bringing his many years of international aerospace experience to AirLiance Materials," Mr. Sisson said. "His focus, energy and extensive contacts will make an important contribution to our plans to rapidly become a major force in pre-owned aircraft parts."

Before coming to AirLiance Materials, Mr. Musselwhite was Vice President of Marketing and Engineering at Dexter Tool, West Palm Beach, FL. At Dexter Tool, he was responsible for marketing, sales, and technical products for the company's new parts manufacturing and FAA/JAA overhaul and repair businesses. During his tenure, Dexter Tool's sales and margins increased significantly and the company successfully diversified into new markets.

Mr. Musselwhite began his career at the Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engine Division of United Technologies Corporation. During his 21-years with that company he rose through successively responsible positions in engineering, project management, and international business development for the commercial, military and space propulsion business units.

Mr. Musselwhite is a graduate of Virginia Tech and holds a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering. He is active in Chamber of Commerce and Florida Business Board activities and also participates in national U.S. Air Force Thunderbird Alumni Association events.

AirLiance Materials buys and sells materials for its partners and customer airlines, building upon the well established quality systems and the extensive combined inventories of its partners. The company is reducing the costs and complexity of obtaining highest quality parts by providing a single, comprehensive source for a wide range of parts for engines and airframes. With an efficient vehicle for the reallocation of inventory between airlines, the company makes quality pre-owned materials an effective alternative to buying new spares from manufacturers.

AirLiance partners United Airlines, Air Canada, and Lufthansa German Airlines combined operate more than 1,000 aircraft and generate 17% of the world's available seat miles.
